Cajun Fishing Camp

Someone told me I should call this painting Cajun Fishing Camp.  I had never heard of a “fishing camp” before.  I just presumed that the families lived in those houses on the swamps and bayous of Southern Louisiana.

The most fascinating State in the country is Louisiana.  Somehow I feel I was misplaced in the scheme of things.  Instead of having a great grandfather whose name was Talliaferro, I was intended to be born and remain during this life in and around New Orleans.  The City of my soul.  Cajuns, the people of everyone’s soul.

This picture is decorative with subdued winter colors and would fall into the category of Design Realism.
